ABOUT THIS GATHERING

Tishrei holds an extraordinary constellation of sacred holidays. It asks us not simply to set intentions for a new year, but to look honestly at where we have been, what we are ready to release, and who we are ready to become.

Together, we’ll explore the spiritual practice of Tashlich: the Rosh Hashanah ritual often described as casting our sins into the water.

We’ll reflect on the moments when we missed our own mark: when we weren’t the version of ourselves we wanted to be, when we accepted something we knew wasn’t good for us, or when we moved away from what we knew to be true.

And instead of casting those moments away with judgment, we’ll practice meeting them with self-love and compassion.

In our own Tashlich ritual, we’ll use flower petals as a symbol to represent what we are ready to release. As we cast them into the water, we’ll honor the woman who made those choices, offer her compassion, and gently let go of what she no longer needs to carry.
