About At The Well:

At The Well is in search of a highly skilled and detail-oriented Copy Editor who possesses a deep understanding of the Hebrew calendar and Rosh Chodesh. Join our creative team and play a pivotal role in shaping our products, programs, and offerings! This position is dedicated to ensuring the accuracy, clarity, and coherence of our written content and offers a unique opportunity to contribute to materials that inspire and uplift our community of women.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a copy editor, preferably within the wellness or spirituality sector.
  • Proficiency in the Hebrew calendar and Rosh Chodesh.
  • Exceptional English grammar, punctuation, and spelling skills. (Some familiarity with the Hebrew language and alphabet is also a plus.)
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to producing error-free content.
  • Familiarity with style guides such as AP Style and the Chicago Manual of Style.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a remote work environment.

Responsibilities:

Copywriting and Editing:

  • Collaborate with our Jewish Education Director and program team to outline content scope and produce materials such as course materials, ebooks, workbooks, and one-sheets.
  • Review and edit written content for accuracy, grammar, punctuation, spelling, and style consistency.
  • Ensure all content aligns with At The Well's brand voice and messaging.
  • Conduct fact-checking and verify references with the Jewish Education Director.

Content Enhancement:

  • Work closely with our growing network of writers and content creators to enhance the quality and readability of articles, blog posts, and other materials.
  • Offer insightful revisions to improve clarity, flow, and reader engagement.

Quality Control:

  • Maintain a rigorous standard of quality control to ensure all content meets At The Well's excellence criteria.
  • Prepare materials for feedback and review by our CEO, Chief Growth Officer, and Marketing Director, incorporating these suggestions and edits into the final product.
  • Perform final proofread and review of materials before publication to identify any last-minute errors.

Collaboration:

  • Effectively collaborate with other At The Well team members and external contributors, including writers and designers, to deliver polished and compelling final products.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in working with remote teams, using project management systems, communicating via Slack, and utilizing G Suite for document management.

Work Demands:

  • Occasional weekend and evening work may be required.
  • Ability to attend periodic in-person meetings at various U.S. locations.
  • Collaboration with virtual team members based in different time zones globally.

Commitment and Compensation:

  • This is a contract position, requiring 30-50 hours per month.
  • Compensation will be commensurate with experience and fall within a range of $30 - $50 per hour, to be paid monthly.
  • Immediate availability is preferred.
